General San Martin is not as attractive as other parts of Peru but is overflowing with wildlife and culture. Pisco itself shares the name with a brandy that was developed in this region. There are still plenty of things to do here, including trying some of the best ceviche around, and tasting a drink of the famous, locally made pisco.

If you’re interested in wildlife and it’s environment, the local waters are teeming with Galapagos (tortoises) and they are often referred to as Little Galapagos, or the Galapagos of Peru. There are also many historical and cultural things to do in this city.
