Canada and New England Knitting Cruise (May 2018) ~ Knitting Cruises Description

7-Day Canada and New England Knitting Cruise w/ Carol Feller

Cruise New England and Maritime Canada with Carol Feller on a voyage of discovery to North America's most scenic, historic and culturally rich seaports. Among the main highlights on this cruise include tracing the path of American independence; eating fresh New England lobster; watching dyeing demonstrations; visiting a working mini-mill and farm near Charlottetown; and shopping for yarn at some of the best shops in the region.

This directional cruise from Montreal to Boston visits several ports in Quebec, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Maine. On this knitting cruise, you will see spring flowers while sampling the delights of French Canada and New England. There are many compelling reasons we invite you to join us as we celebrate the stunning beauty of spring onboard Holland America's ms Veendam.

This cruise is ideal for those with limited time since, unlike many cruises to this region, it is only 7 nights. There will be optional extensions offered both before and after the cruise for those with more time. The cruise begins in historical French Canada visiting many interesting ports followed by one day at sea. Carol Feller will be offering a class program designed specifically for this itinerary. Carol, who calls Cork, Ireland home, is both an artist and structural engineer. She has authored five popular knitting books. For the onboard knitting program Carol will work you through the process of knitting a cabled hat from side-to-side. Everyone will learn provisional cast-on techniques, ways to perfect your cables, German Short Rows with cables and finally grafting both knit and purl stitches. When you've finished your hat you'll have a new set of skills and an amazing hat!
