Description ~ Buttonband Savvy
We are going to be exploring button holes, button bands and buttons. In lieu of making useless swatches, this time Alissa has come up with 2 different patterns for you to make up (check directions, you will need 2 of each) which, when finished, will become 4 cup cozies you can use or give away. Each sample is made in worsted weight yarn using size 8 needles (any kind will work). We are going to be making different kinds of button bands and you will need the following kinds of buttons in styles that you like WITH your yarns. We will cover 4 uncommon ways to make a buttonhole.
Materials Needed ~ Buttonband Savvy
- Odd balls of worsted weight yarn (100 grams total).
- US #8 needles.
- One set of 3 — 1" buttons.
- 3 sets of 2 — 1 1/4" buttons.
- Smooth cotton DK waste yarn, scissors and a tapestry needle that will fit through your button holes.
