Description ~ Twined Knitting
In this class students will learn the basics of Twined Knitting technique. Twined knitting, also known as two-end knitting, is a traditional Scandinavian knitting technique known for its durability, warmth, and unique texture. It is a common technique used by rural knitters to create sturdy clothing that withstand harsh winter conditions.
Traditional twined knitting often includes distinctive textured patterns and motifs. These can range from simple geometric shapes to more elaborate designs. The twisting of the yarns can also create a subtle, attractive surface texture. Twined knitting can be more challenging to learn than standard knitting techniques due to the constant twisting of the yarns and the specific tension required.
