Description ~ Victorian Knitted Lace
Together we will explore the crazy world of Victorian knitting patterns. There were no standard terms, patterns were more like guidelines and etchings were occasionally given for a working given — no photographs. Working together we will translate them into modern lace edges using actual patterns from the V&A collection.
Materials Needed ~ Victorian Knitted Lace
- 50 grams fingering weight cotton in a plain, light color. Traditionally, Victorian knitted lace was worked in white.
- US size 4 (3.5 mm) needles, any style. Pointy tips are MUCH better.
