Norwegian Fjords (May 2011) ~ Knitting Cruises Description
The majestic beauty of the Norwegian Fjords is hard to capture in words. This is the land of the midnight sun where the locals love summertime and worship the sun. The days will be long and each will bring a special experience.
In describing the shipping route of Norway, the Vikings more than one thousand years ago used the term Norvegr which is where the name Norway came from. Norvegr means the way to the north which was used by the Vikings to describe the shipping route of Norway.
Perhaps one of the most beautiful, scenic cruises you will ever take, the Norwegian Fjords offers some amazing views from the harbor in Rotterdam to the ports of Bergen, Alesund and Stavenger which are rich in history and scenery. Throughout the cruise you will be in awe as your ship passes by the beautiful steep mountains and breathtaking fjords which are uniquely Norwegian.
Sally Melville has scheduled an exciting line up for classes to fit this itinerary and in each port along the way we will include special visits to local yarn shops, designer studios and other related places of interest.
Sally Melville will be teaching some of her most popular classes on this cruise. Knit to Flatter and Fit, Borders and Buttonholes, Making the Most of your Yarn Collection, First Choices, Basic Shapes and Set in Sleeve's as well as Pattern Drafting will all be offered.
