Canadian Rockies Rail (August, 2011) ~ Knitting Land Tours Description

What better way to tour the Canadian Rockies than by rail on a classic rail car with large picture windows, plenty of legroom and great meals. Join Joan Schrouder for a rail journey that will include learning new knitting techniques, and yarn shopping combined with some of the most breathtaking scenery and wildlife in the world.

We've designed this trip to allow participants to spend as much time in Vancouver before the rail trip as they wish. If you want to participate in all the classes you'll need two nights in Vancouver, if you want to take just one class you need just one night and if you want to sightsee many of Vancouver's cultural and natural attractions or simply relax and enjoy the mountain and waterfront scenery the choice is yours.

This trip has been custom designed to maximize the time on the rails for knitting and taking in the spectacular scenery along the way. Enjoy traveling in luxury rail cars during daylight hours and staying in first class hotels at night. This itinerary includes visits to Kamloops, Jasper, Banff and Lake Louise. From small fur trading towns to Canada's most spectacular National Parks you will quickly see why this rail trip attracts so many visitors from all over the world. From glacier-fed lakes and rumbling waterfalls to rugged mountains filled with beautiful hiking trails, there is no shortage of things to see and do while on this rail journey.
