Yarn Basket in Hilo Hawaii was the only yarn shop in the Big Island for years until the new shop opened in 2009 in Kona. Yarn Basket is still the largest store on the Big Island and located in an established shopping center. The Yarn Basket is only about 15 minutes away from the port. This store has a wide selection of yarns and needles.
Yarn Basket carries Jan Dean's wonderful hand spun and hand dyed yarns. Jan Dean operates the Hawaiian Homegrown Wool Company in HIlo and produced beautiful custom dyed yarns.
